Former president of the Single leg Amputee Sports Association (SLASA) Michael Sillah has donated a second hand Honda car for the use of the SLASA administration and boxes of used clothing and sports jersey, reading books, mattresses, shoes and back packs for amputees and their families.
According to Sillah he gained permanent resettlement status in Nova Scotia, Canada in the late 2007 but "I have deep passion and love for my fellow amputees here and with that I made conscious effort to gather used items for the benefit a lot of amputees in the country".
He said the project has been entrusted to the SLASA in trust for member clubs and related amputees who are and "I am pleased to offer these items to the wider amputee society as my own little help to develop the amputees who have gone through a lot during the brutal war".
Responding the president of SLASA Jabati Mambu thanked Sillah for the "goodwill gesture" and urged "fellow amputees in the diaspora to emulate the good example".
