Bo Rangers issue ultimatum to SLFA President

By Chernor Alimamy Kamara

For delaying to pay their Champions’ money since they won the Premier League last year, Bo Rangers have issued a fourteen day ultimatum to the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Thomas Daddy Brima.

The ultimatum was contained in a letter written by the club’s Executive Chairman, Babadi Kamara on the 24th May, 2023.

Reference was made to an earlier letter to the FA President requesting him to make his commitment to give them their Championship money as promised during the closing courtesies of the 2021/2022 Sierra Leone Premier League season.

It stated that the Club’s management later received an acknowledgement from the SLFA General Secretary, Chris Kamara dated 10th January 2023 apologizing for the delay while at the same time assuring them that the said money would be paid on or before the 31st January, 2023.

The letter reminded the SLFA boss that it is about twenty weeks since the club was given the assurance of receiving the money, but that they are still yet to receive it. It reiterated that it is now a year since the President made that commitment to the club, but to no avail.

It informed him that the club’s hierarchy have exercised restraint throughout this period of delay but that they now find it inexcusable as the SLFA President continues to treat them with contempt.

“This attitude, no doubt, undermines the importance of our elite league; it undermines investment and competition,” part of the letter reads.

The letter also told  Brima that “it is good that we keep every promise we make and make promises that we can keep especially to people we profess to care about” and that “implementing them is as important as keeping them.”

It ended by reminding him that the club’s authorities are leaving all available remedies open while they look forward to a favorable response .
