Sierra Leone Volleyball Association’s first local referee course in the Southern Region Headquarter Town of Bo has ended at the Bo Coronation field. The SLVA organized the three-day course which attracted 20 participants, in collaboration with the newly formed National Referees Commission (NRC) of the association. NRC Chairman Mohamed Benson Bawoh, a certified referee of the International Volleyball Federation who was the course instructor said he was impressed with the performance of the participants. Bawoh told participants that the knowledge they gained must be put into practice as the course was geared towards the development of the game. The SLVA Secretary General Ahmed Khanou said the training is expected to improve the technical ability of the local coaches and noted that plans are underway to hold similar training programs in other regions of the country.
