The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has appointed Ibrahim Sorie Kamara as the new chairman of the Premier League Board.
The announcement was made by the president of SLFA Isha Johansen, at a news conference in Freetown on Wednesday 15 January. She said "we made no mistake in appointing him as chairman, he is a man that has an in-depth knowledge in football administration and his credibility is well maintained in the country”.
Johansen said Kamara has already accepted the appointment. Other members appointed to the PLB are Idriss Kamara- Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, Victor Lewis- Managing Editor of Spectator Newspaper, James Fofanah, Alhaji Unisa Alim Sesay-Chairman Anti-Drugs Football Club, Idrissa Margo Tarawally-Secretary General, Ports Authority Football Club and Kofi Deen Nyakor-Chairman of Bo District Football Association.
The SLFA president said everything was in place for the league to start.
Meanwhile two grassroots community coaches from Arsenal Football Club in the UK, Abdulghani Adam and Mathew Barkhm are in Freetown by courtesy of the SLFA "to help train 8-12 year-old kids and grassroots coaches to build their capacity".
