Paul Kamara to sack U-20 Coaches

By Kemoh Sesay

Sports Minister Paul Kamara has said that he will soon sack "the entire technical team of the U-20 national football team". Kamara was speaking to journalists after the team's humiliating 2 - 0 defeat by their Ghanaian counterparts in the southern city of Bo, last weekend.

Speaking about the tactics employed by the technical staff, Kamara said, "we agree to use the same team we used in Guinea which qualified us to this stage but it is unfortunate for me to see a change in the squad". He suggested that the change in personnel was the cause of their defeat.

The minister said he would first invite the technical staff to a meeting so that he can raise critical questions with them and would then proceed to sack them if they fail to provide credible answers.

Asked if he had the right to sack a coach, he replied that, " my ministry is presently in control of all international matches in the country...as a minister I am doing what is right for the country". Many sports personalities have accused the minister of meddling in the affairs of the Sierra Leone Football Association.
