The Member of Parliament for Constituency 87 in Pujehun District, has urged his district delegates to the forthcoming national conference of the opposition SLPP party to support Allie Essa Bangura for the leadership of the party.
Speaking at a campaign ceremony in Pujehun of Ambassador Bangura, Ansumana Kaikai, MP, said the candidate had contributed “greatly” towards the development of the party and was capable of bringing unity among its members.
He said Bangura had greater connections and recognition at both local and international levels to help the party and was “the right person to fight for democracy and the only person feared by the APC Party”.
Kaikai added that Julius Maada Bio and Allie Bangura “are best of friends” and advised their supporters that nobody should change their mindset on the grounds of them being at loggerheads.
Even though he fell short of endorsing any of the candidates, the Pujehun District SLPP Chairman, Eddie Massallay in his opening statement said they would only give their support to one candidate or another after a consultative meeting.
