Sierra Leone recorded 0.33% and 1.18% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Tuesday (10:00 am) to Thursday (10:00 am).
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total cases was lower compared to Benin (11.72%), Burkina Faso (0.34%), Cape Verde (0.82%), Ivory Coast (1.51%), Gambia (0.49%), Ghana (0.39%), Guinea (1.79%), Guinea-Bissau (0.61%), Mali (0.67%), Nigeria (0.60%), Senegal (0.88%), Togo (3.68%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.46%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.90%), Africa (0.49%), Europe (0.73%), North America (0.52%), South America (1.01%), Asia (0.62%) and the world (0.68%). However, percentage increase in total cases in Liberia (0.15%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Niger recorded zero increase in total cases.
Benin (7.14%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Cape Verde (2.04%), Ivory Coast (0.52%), Gambia (0.67%), Ghana (0.66%), Guinea (3.37%), Mali (0.56%), Nigeria (1.25%), Senegal (1.82%), MRU (0.90%), ECOWAS (1.18%), Africa (0.63%), Europe (0.95%), North America (0.86%), South America (1.03%), Asia (0.41%) and the world (0.84%). Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Niger, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was higher compared to Burkina Faso (0.60%), Cape Verde (0.31%), Ivory Coast (1.02%), Gambia (0.54%), Ghana (0.60%), Guinea (1.01%), Guinea-Bissau (0.42%), Mali (0.16%), MRU (0.99%), Africa (0.70%), Europe (0.88%), North America (0.91%), South America (1.10%), Asia (0.54%) and the world (0.83%). Percentage increase in total recoveries in Benin (16.83%), Nigeria (1.42%), Senegal (1.57%), Togo (4.50%) and ECOWAS (1.29%) was higher compared to Sierra Leone. Liberia and Niger recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
