SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (07/02/22)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.70% increase in COVID-19 infections, from January 22 to February 4, 2022.

Percentage increase in COVID-19 infections over the period was lower in Sierra Leone compared to Benin (0.72%), Burkina Faso (1.12%), Cape Verde (1.04%), Ivory Coast (1.21%), Gambia (2.51%), Ghana (1.50%), Guinea (1.36%), Guinea-Bissau (7.14%), Liberia (0.89%), Mali (2.44%), Niger (1.80%), Senegal (1.50%), Togo (1.03%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.21%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (1.19%), Africa (4.23%), Europe (18.19%), North America (8.14%), South America (10.14%), Asia (9.40%) and the world (11.96%). On the other hand, percentage increase in total infections was lower in Nigeria (0.59%) compared to Sierra Leone.

Burkina Faso (5.38%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Cape Verde (3.39%), Ivory Coast (1.82%), Gambia (4.90%), Ghana (3.46%), Guinea (3.90%), Guinea-Bissau (1.96%), Liberia (0.96%), Mali (1.56%), Niger (2.03%), Nigeria (0.38%), Senegal (1.51%), Togo (0.75%), MRU (2.01%), ECOWAS (1.79%), Africa (2.00%), Europe (2.54%), North America (3.24%), South America (1.52%), Asia (1.70%) and the world (2.29%). Benin and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Europe (16.87%) recorded the highest percentage increase in recoveries compared to Burkina Faso (3.98%), Cape Verde (4.07%), Ivory Coast (2.60%), Gambia (9.67%), Ghana (4.83%), Guinea (3.82%), Guinea-Bissau (5.79%), Mali (5.87%), Niger (7.50%), Nigeria (1.67%), Senegal (5.18%) Togo (10.92%), MRU (2.70%), ECOWAS (3.71%), Africa (5.46%), North America (7.97%), South America (6.80%), Asia (9.10%) and the world (11.32%). Benin, Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
