Sierra Leone recorded 0.78% increase in total COVID-19 infections over the week, from December 12-19, 2021.
In comparison, Sierra Leone recorded the lowest percentage increase in COVID-19 infections compared to Burkina Faso (2.07%), Mali (3.72%), Nigeria (2.58%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (1.16%), Africa (2.96%), Europe (3.32%), North America (1.67%), and the world (1.68%). However, Percentage increase in total infections was lower in Benin (0.04%), Cape Verde (0.20%), Ivory Coast (0.29%), Gambia (0.53%), Ghana (0.38%), Guinea (0.05%), Guinea-Bissau (0.14%), Liberia (0.19%), Niger (0.70%), Senegal (0.09%), Togo (0.67%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.25%), South America (0.30%) and Asia (0.65%) compared to Sierra Leone.
Burkina Faso (2.07%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Ghana (1.29%), Mali (1.75%), Niger (1.87%), Nigeria (0.10%), Togo (0.41%), ECOWAS (0.42%), Africa (0.42%), Europe (1.76%), North America (0.92%), South America (0.20%), Asia (0.68%) and the world (0.91%). Benin, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone and MRU recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Europe (3.27%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total recoveries compared to Benin (0.65%), Burkina Faso (2.06%), Cape Verde (0.23%), Ivory Coast (0.20%), Gambia (0.06%), Ghana (0.17%), Guinea (0.08%), Guinea-Bissau (0.13%), Mali (2.63%), Niger (1.09%), Nigeria (1.77%), Senegal (0.08%), Togo (0.10%), MRU (0.15%), ECOWAS (0.80%), Africa (1.87%), North America (3.27%), South America (0.22%), Asia (0.65%) and the world (1.47%). Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
