SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (21/02/22)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.47% increase in COVID-19 infections, from February 4-19, 2022.

Percentage increase in COVID-19 infections over the period was lower in Sierra Leone compared to Ivory Coast (0.67%), Gambia (0.51%), Ghana (0.64%), Guinea-Bissau (2.32%), Liberia (1.21%), Mali (0.61%), Niger (0.83%), Senegal (0.48%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.61%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.48%), Africa (2.48%), Europe (13.12%), North America (3.98%), South America (6.70%), Asia (8.47%) and the world (8.64%). On the other hand, percentage increase in total infections was lower in Benin (0.26%), Burkina Faso (0.39%), Cape Verde (0.19%), Guinea (0.41%), Nigeria (0.32%) and Togo (0.44%) compared to Sierra Leone.

Guinea-Bissau (6.41%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (0.81%), Cape Verde (1.01%), Ivory Coast (0.76%), Gambia (0.27%), Ghana (2.07%), Guinea (2.82%), Mali (0.28%), Niger (0.66%), Nigeria (0.19%), Senegal (0.41%), Togo (1.12%), MRU (1.11%), ECOWAS (0.79%), Africa (2.52%), Europe (3.14%), North America (3.57%), South America (2.03%), Asia (2.37%) and the world (2.82%). Benin, Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Europe (21.11%) recorded the highest percentage increase in recoveries compared to Burkina Faso (0.58%), Cape Verde (0.67%), Ivory Coast (1.18%), Gambia (2.90%), Ghana (1.30%), Guinea (0.96%), Guinea-Bissau (2.55%), Mali (6.55%), Niger (4.03%), Nigeria (0.38%), Senegal (2.81%) Togo (8.75%), MRU (1.02%), ECOWAS (1.60%), Africa (4.38%), North America (21.11%), South America (7.86%), Asia (9.02%) and the world (12.59%). Benin, Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
