So here is the thing, we have six teams playing in the Premier League from Friday to Sunday; two of them are in the top of the table, three of them are right at the bottom and one of them is just in the middle.
It is safe to say that by the end of the weekend, things would have shaped up a bit all over the table.
Old Edwardians vs FC Kallon
The sub plot to this game is quite interesting, every time these two teams meet there is a feeling of sentimentality all around the place. The owner of FC Kallon is a former pupil of Saint Edwards Secondary School and a player of Old Edwardians before he formed his own club later on.
But forget this history, because once the whistle is blown all bets are off.
The last time these two teams met in the league the game was exciting and Edwards put up one of their best performances of the season. It was a stalemate and Kallon wasn’t really at their best at the time.
Here is what is at stake this time round. FC Kallon could go top of the league and lead East End Lions with a point difference. This is the best chance they could have hoped for, with just two games in to this second leg. But FC Kallon needs to watch out, too much rotation has affected the team’s rhythm in the past and it almost did against Anti-Drugs last week.
For Edwards, they have a chance to go at least five points clear off the relegation zone. They have the momentum on their side; two wins in a row have certainly got their confidence going.
RSLAF v Anti- Drugs
This is one of those games that could take you by surprise. They are both early relegation candidates. So the stakes are high. These two teams could end up being at the bottom of the table anytime, if Bo Rangers wake from their slumber.
Let’s start with Anti-Drugs. They sold players, changed their chairman but still have won the same number of game as Bo Rangers. The only reason why Anti-Drugs are not the 13th team on the table is as a result of the games they have drawn. Anti-Drugs have drawn 10 games. No team have drawn more games in the league this year. So with this in mind, you will get the feeling that they could easily force a draw rather than a win.
RSLAF need to get back to their feet, business has been bad. They have 10 points and a game in hand. This is an advantage that they must take. Victory for RSLAF could see them equal on points with Anti-Drugs who are just above them in 11th.
Ports Authority v Eastern Tigers
When the season was about to start, almost everyone marked Ports as one of those teams that could win this title. 15 games in to the season, they are still struggling to even stay in the top three. They lost to Edwards and FCFC. Their morale is broken. But they have to fix their morale or it could be smashed all together.
East End Tigers defeated this Ports team 2-0 in the first leg of the league. It was like a smash and grab robbery job: so quick, so precise. And the Tigers are still bloody.
Tigers just sit at the mouth of the table, they are the junction between the top and bottom half of the table. But the quality of this team will not let anyone of us think that they could end up in 7th. Ports are there for the taking and on a good day Tigers could tear them apart.
Ports can get closer to Lions by 5 points if they win, even though Lions will have a game in hand over them. Tigers could join three other teams with 22 points in the table.
