SLFA Ex-Co members say match-fixing suspensions "unconstitutional"

Three SLFA Executive Committee members who were suspended from all sporting activities over match-fixing allegations have demanded the immediate withdrawal of the letter and an apology from the SLFA.

The Executive Committee members called for the "revocation of the illegal and unlawful suspension within 72 hours and an unqualified and unconditional apology for the embarrassment and inconvenience suffered as a result of this illegal and malicious act".

The letter, signed by Abdul Kainasiue Rollings (Chairman Western Area Football Association), Morrison Sannoh (Chairman Easter Region Football Association) and Alhaji Nasiru Deen Othman (Ex-Officio –SLFA), catalogued a list of what they describe as contraventions of the SLFA constitution.

On 15th July 2014, the SLFA and the Ministry of Sports jointly issued a press release suspending 15 people from all football related activities. To date the neither the FA nor the Ministry of sport has come forward with evidence to substantiate their ‘revelations’.

A football analyst told Politico that he is "surprised that despite the urgency in the press release, the SLFA has still not named members of the committee that would investigate the allegation weeks after suspending its own members".
