The Central One Football Association has warned people using the parade grounds in Freetown for recreational activities to desist with immediate effect because of the temporary suspension of such activities until the end of the Public Emergency in the country.
The Secretary General of COFA Philipson Cline-Cole who spoke to this press expressed that people were still in the habit of defying the Public Emergency restrictions even when the perimeter wall and the a pavilion are under construction.
He said, 'we are not pleased...we are taking this venture to improve the state of the pitch which has been in bad condition for the past years but some people are not helping our effort.'
The Secretary General said COFA was still having confrontation with groups of people who are in the habit of using the field. He said his organisation would alert the police to the violation of the Public Emergency rules.
Cline-Cole said the construction work on the facilities on the pitch is on hold because ‘most of our sponsors are waiting for the Ebola crisis to be over.'
He said most of the construction work on the field is funded by COFA.
