RED CAMP POLITICIAN IN NAKED TRIBAL CAMPAIGN UP NORTH

We can only describe the few minutes of campaign video of a well know RED CAMP politician campaigning in the far north of the country as a VIDEO OF SHAME, real SHAME and DESPERATION. We really don’t understand what he was trying to achieve with that rubbish. Just over one year the man was on the same ground campaigning with money and bogus promises. His party lost the national vote, now he has grown so desperate that he has thrown in his last card – TRIBALISM.

In some countries this tribal politician would be taught a very bitter lesson for trying to destroy the peace and harmony of ordinary Sierra Leoneans who have lived together for years by telling them in that public meeting that one particular tribe was getting the upper hand over the others in national politics. We may not have those institutional structures that exist in some other countries but even the police can call him in to take a statement and possibly charge him for inciting tribal hatred. Many of those who saw the video on social media the other night were terribly revolted by such brazen and outrageous tribalism by a man who OUGHT TO KNOW BETTER. We can’t help but wonder thus:

1. What would it profit this man to set a peaceful community up against itself and even cause deaths just for a seat in parliament? Are you telling us a seat in parliament is worth even a single life let alone the hundreds that could be put in danger by such blatant tribal messaging?

2. The tragedy is the poor people appear to actually see through his very wicked campaign. They just sat there listening in disgust. SHAME!

3. In these days of smart phones and social media there is no hiding place for people like you. You sneak out of Freetown to preach naked tribalism for the sake of votes in places that were totally marginalized by your unrepentantly corrupt government.

4. We are putting this on record and saving the video in our archive just in case tribal war breaks out in that corner and people are killed. We will pass it on to the International Criminal Court.

5. By the way, stand by for the real drama of your own life in the High Court of Sierra Leone. You should be ashamed of yourself.

SOUTH AFRICANS KILLING OTHER BLACK AFRICANS AGAIN

Once again xenophobic violence directed against black Africans in South Africa is on again. About half a dozen people have been brutally killed already. Many have lost their businesses and are now hiding away from people they considered as brothers and sisters. Why South Africans are doing this to other black Africans in that country leaves all of us baffled. The fact that it keeps happening again and again tells us that it is not as sporadic as the politicians want us to believe and while there may be some criminal elements underlying all of this, it’s becoming clear that politics is also a major factor. Some politicians are whipping up xenophobic sentiments against black Africans calling them kwerekwere, a very derogatory term reserved mainly for their black African brothers.

So how might the rest of BLACK AFRICA react to this latest flare up in a robust way to tell Cyril Ramaphosa that we are serious?

1. Let there be an emergency meeting of the African Union to discuss the issue. Our leaders should mount that podium and shame those ungrateful South Africans who have in fact refused to thank our people for all the sacrifices they made fighting apartheid.

2. We should tell them that the situation in which a man from Ukraine is free to live and work in South Africa while black people from Somalia and Nigeria are up for slaughter once a year, is unacceptable and must be resisted.

3. Ambassadors from all Black African countries should be recalled for consultations immediately. This idea of them thinking of riding on African votes to get a permanent seat at the yet-to-be-expanded UN Security Council is now dead. Let’s just forget it. Any of our governments that vote for South Africa should lose the next election in their country.

4. All South African-owned companies in the rest of Black Africa should be boycotted and in some cases thrown out of the countries.

5. Our sports teams should not participate in any games in that country.

COME ON IG MOIGBEH HOW CAN YOU ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN?

Good Morning IG Moigbeh. Please have a look at this picture and tell us what you see. Please this is not a toilet from the slums around Freetown. This is what your officers, particularly those in the traffic division of Kissy Mess Mess Police Station are using as a bathroom. Unbelievable! IG Moigbeh how often do you visit your police divisions in Freetown? We will not waste our time talking about what obtains outside Freetown. This bathroom is a real disgrace.

We visited that station recently and found ourselves standing close to this mess talking to some officers. We felt really sorry for them. By the way the officers didn’t see us taking pictures and we are sure they would have confiscated our camera. As we drove back to the office, we wondered how those police officers wanted their working conditions to improve when they themselves are engaged in all this elaborate cover up of IG Moigbeh’s neglect of his people who are on the frontline of the fight against crime.

So what should IG Moigbeh be doing between now and the next two weeks when we return there to see if action has been taken to end that disrespect of our hardworking officers? We have some suggestions:

1. Immediately after reading this piece, call off any scheduled meetings for today and head for Kissy police to see this mess with your own eyes and begin work on a new toilet immediately.

2. Please don’t go searching for officers you believe facilitated the meeting and the subsequent taking of the pictures. We took them by surprise and we were only doing our job.

3. Please get money from the big industries around the area if what we are asking for is not part of your budget. Tell them you want to end that horrible smell that hits one from a mile away. How can your female officers use this, MR. INSPECTOR GENERAL?!

4. Maybe you should write a letter to us asking for help. We will publish and ask our numerous readers to pledge a few pennies to a worthy cause.

5. You can dismiss all of this with the wave of a hand. But if we go there in two weeks and find the same thing we will ask you again to RESIGN because you have neglected the welfare of your officers in your obsession with siren blaring as you move around Freetown.
