MOVE THE PROJECT AND KILL THE NOISE OVER BLACK JOHNSON
Many Sierra Leoneans now know about a sleepy Freetown peninsular village called Black Johnson. The place has been thrown into the intemperate climate of Sierra Leone politics from the moment the government announced that it had secured more than FIFTY MILLION US dollars as grant from the Chinese to build a fish harbor there. Then there came an article in the leftist British newspaper, The Guardian calling the project ‘CATASTROPHIC’ and this and that. The overall tone was predictable as the local sources that rounded up to give that article its necessity legitimacy are people we know very well in this our little corner of the globe. Ask anybody what those people think about any government project under the New Direction you will get the same answer. So we are used to them now.
Maybe the government should simply move this project inland and leave Black Johnson and the so called rainforest and rare animals for tourists that prefer other destinations because of the LIES the same environmental hypocrites are telling about our country. They even take pictures of gross human rights violations from war torn English speaking West Cameroon to tell the world that Sierra Leoneans were busy killing each other so all foreigners must stay away. These are the same people building castles all around our water catchment areas in defiance of all planning laws. They are now jumping on the Black Johnson bandwagon.
The people of Shenge, Kychom and Sulima are waiting for this 55 million US dollar investment. Cut a long story short. Let’s consider that.
SLFA WANTS TO FATTEN THE DELEGATE PIG ON A MARKET DAY
We always knew the Queen will try to spring some surprise in the days leading to the elective congress at which her leadership of the SLFA looks set to end but we didn’t think what her team will orchestrate will be this desperate and divisive. The old enemy in the shape of RODNEY MICHAEL is refusing to die after all the battering. In fact like an object in the mirror, he looks closer today than he has ever been in TWELVE YEARS. The Queen’s people are probably fasting and praying for CAS to uphold the decision of our hapless so-called ethics committee and so end Michael’s hope of ever leading the SLFA.
DELEGATES - We know now that the SLFA secretariat has thrown in one more trick - they want to change those delegates that are sure to vote against the Queen. A battle is on in the WAFA executive that could spell serious consequences for the organization. Their chairman has written to the SLFA, changing all the original delegates and replacing them with individuals that are tied in with Queen’s project. The idea is to thrown the Stakeholders into a tailspin as their wall of pledged delegates would be breached for the first time.
We will not accept any explanation from the NSA and the Ministry of Sport if they allow the SLFA to remove the names of people who were very properly verified by a SEVEN member committee that was handsomely paid for from our taxes. We will defend our taxes until the heavens fall. This idea that in all SLFA elections the secretariat MUST play tricks to decide the winner will end in Makeni in 2021. When the final list of approved delegates is released, we will study it carefully and pick out any discrepancy. Our business is to let the world know the truth so that the people of Sierra Leone will take on the regime holding out at the SLFA by rogue tactics.
DIDIER DROGBA
Queen of SLFA had another great photo opportunity with Ivorian football legend Didier Drogba. Her media handlers gladly posted that on social media. With a few days now to the election they are clutching at every straw to stay afloat. The problem is that this brand has always been difficult, even impossible to sell since this administration was controversially forced on the good people of Sierra Leone in August 2013. This was the only time in the history of this country that an Inspector General of Police was physically on duty for an election held inside a police barracks with an electorate made up of only FORTY-TWO people. Even for general elections in this country, the IG normally sits in a command center observing his commanders at work.
The other point we want to make is that both Drogba and madam have something in common which made that photo more telling than they imagine. The football fraternity in both countries doesn’t want the two people to lead them at all and both are hanging on FIFA to survive. Despite his legendary status in world football, Drogba has been rejected twice. His counterpart was NEVER voted for. She went unopposed after a wicked manipulation by FIFA and the SLFA secretariat landed her in the position she is still occupying FOUR years after that original stolen mandate expired.
So it was a great photo opportunity dear Queen but it’s market day already and all you have is a skinny pig that only a handful of people will pay a few pennies for.
BSL STRIKES ANOTHER INVESTMENT SCHEME DOWN
We don’t want to get into the details of what the Bank of Sierra Leone has just done to a Bo-based financial services institution. Essentially, the operating license of that institution has just been cancelled and already tension has gone up a notch in the southern city. The Resident Minister in the south has been out and about telling the people their investment was safe. In order words they will get their monies back on demand. We have no idea how he reached that conclusion. He should be very careful.
We are waiting for the reaction of this company in terms of how quickly they pull themselves back from the legal hole in which they’ve been put by BSL. They have to act fast because it’s in their business interest and the interest of the good people of Sierra Leone and their investment. The whole government must treat this issue with seriousness and keep information flowing to those who have invested money in this company because any gaps in communication could open the way for wicked rumor mongering and soon enough people will be out on the streets of Bo in protest.
We are watching things.
