The national U-21 beach volleyball teams both male and female have qualified to the U-21 World Championship to be held in Croatia.
The female team won against Nigeria and the male team lost to Niger but won silver in the finals of the Africa Beach Volleyball Championship held in Niger. Sierra Leone qualifies alongside Niger, Nigeria and Benin.
Florence Amara, Assistant Commissioner of the Sierra Leone Volleyball Referees Commission said that both teams have secured a place in the championship to be hosted in Croatia. The players she said have been engaged in effective training sessions to match up with their competitors.
She hoped for a better participation from the national team as called on various sponsors to come and support the team to win the championship.
