WAFA Shifts FA Cup matches away from Academy

By Kemoh Sesay

The Western Area Football Association( WAFA) has moved all FA Cup matches from the SLFA Football Academy field to two other venues following reports of acts of indiscipline by especially football club officials and fans, the latest being the confrontation  involving the Sierra Leone Football Association President, Isha Johansen and former Leone Stars captain and Chairman of FC Kallon, Mohamed Kallon  during a  match between  Nottingham and Kallon football clubs . Fans of both clubs were also said to have clashed. Police  are  particularly  investigating a case of verbal and physical confrontation  between the two people. FA Cup matches are now to be played at Parade and Kaytee fields.  The Secretary General of WAFA, Kashor Holland- Cole  said  they as an Association totally condemned all acts of violence and that punitive measures would be taken against any of the two clubs found culpable but stopped short of mentioning any action against either individuals as WAFA is a subordinate to the SLFA.
