Police yesterday opened fire at protesters in Malen chiefdom in the southern Pujehun district.

According to eyewitnesses and campaigners, at least ten people were seriously wounded. Many others are said to be in police custody.

The Red Cross programme administrator in Pujehun, Tom Abu told Politico that one of the casualties was shot in the neck and was in a critical condition.

Stranded ARIK passengers

Over 100 passengers were left stranded at the Freetown international airport in Lungi on Sunday by Arik Air after the plane failed to show up, according to some of them.

It seems Christmas has come too early for the Koidu Government Hospital as a Christian non-governmental organization over the weekend donated assorted medical equipment to the hospital.

With support from their partners in Austria, Korea and Taiwan, World Vision Sierra Leone (WV-S/L) donated Microscope Slide, Disposable Limbs, Leg pillows, baby care kits, synthetic examination gloves and child care kits to the Koidu government hospital.
