Pupils in protest march for teachers' salary

A senior teacher at Richard Allen High School, Mary Kposowa, has told Politico that staff had not been paid since July, causing them to stop work and their pupils to go on a protest march in the east end of the city last week.

Member of Parliament of Constituency 85 has made an impassioned appeal for the rehabilitation of the main highway leading to her constituency, asking that it be considered as of the many road projects set aside for maintenance.

6-year jail term for Pastor

The general overseer of the Lord’s Mission Church and president of ‘His Helping Hand International Ministry,’ (4HIM) Sierra Leone, has been sent to prison for six years after he failed to pay Le 250 million as alternative sentence.

Rev Hassan Mansaray and his accountant were indicted by the anti-graft agency in May this year for misappropriating donor funds and property.

Parliament quizzes Addax

Parliamentary committee on labour and industrial relations on Friday summoned officials of ADDAX Bioenergy Company, its subsidiary and subcontractors to clarify issues regarding their operations, employment and social responsibilities.

Committee chairman, Francis Konowa, observed that one of the subcontractors PC/ISGECK Company had 211 expatriate staff and 73 national staff, stating that that was very unfair to the country.
