Judiciary to tackle 189 ‘no-trace’ cases in Sierra Leone

The Head of Media and Communications at Judiciary of Sierra Leone, Elkass Sannoh has said that the 189 no-trace cases found during the Judicial Week will be struck-off.

In an interview with Politico, Sannoh said the cases will be removed from the judicial process, as long as nobody is making any follow-up interest.

Man gets 20 years in jail for killing best friend over a woman

A 34-year old convict, Gibrilla Sesay of New site Campbell town Waterloo, has been sentenced to 20 years  imprisonment after pleading guilty to killing his childhood best friend, David Kamara over a woman.

Before his guilty plea and sentencing at High Court No.1 in Freetown On Tuesday 5th  September 2023,  State Prosecutor, Solomon Christian Kekurah had applied for amendment of the indictment from murder to manslaughter.

Bio calls for Climate Change support

14 years for man who bit victim’s lip off

A 20-year-old Cleaner, Sheka Conteh has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment after confessing to biting off the lower lip of one Jusif Sankoh.

Before pronouncing the sentence at the Freetown High Court No.1 on Monday 4th September 2023, Justice Adrian Fisher noted that the only way society can be safe is when such people are kept in a tight place. He said as a judge he owes society the responsibility to sentence the convict in a way that would send a strong message to other bad boys.

I saw the accused stabbing the deceased” - Witness

Ibrahim Abdallah, the Second Prosecution Witness in the on-going Adams Street murder trial before Justice Adrian Fisher has told the court that he saw the first accused, Santigie Bangura, stabbing the deceased, Mohamed Umarr Karmoh Kamara in his neck with a knife.

The witness said he was at Solar Organisation, off Mountain Cut in Freetown when the deceased reported to him that the first accused and his friends had poured alcohol on him.
