Fuel arrives today

The Managing Director of NP Liberia, Mohamed Kanu has told Politico that 8,000 metric tons of fuel left the port of Monrovia yesterday for Freetown.

Speaking on the phone from Liberia, Kanu said the vessel would arrive in Freetown later today, Thursday.

NDA falls apart

Leader of the African Socialists Movement in Sierra Leone, Chernoh Alpha Bah, who was spokesman for the allied National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has announced an end to the alliance between the two parties. The former presidential running mate of NDA, Mohamed Sidique Kabba also announced that he was leaving the party.

“Our decision to break the coalition was as a result of the insincerity on the part of the party's (NDA) leadership with whom the socialist movement had had an understanding” Bah told journalists on Monday.

More mines leaders in court in eastern Sierra Leone

15 people charged with various offences including malicious damage, riotous conduct, conspiracy, throwing of missiles, threatening remarks and arson have made their first appearance before Magistrate Otto During at the Sefadu Magistrate Court.

All the accused were denied bail and remanded in custody until 17th January as the complainant, OCTEA Diamond Group was not present in court.
