State House Press Secretary visits Politico

The newly- appointed Press Secretary  in the Office of the President, Solomon Jamiru, has  visited Politico newspaper  as part of his meeting –the- media initiative, following his recent appointment.

Accompanied by State House Communications Manager Tanu Jalloh, he told the Politico staff on Thursday 27th July 2023 that his office exists because of the media and that the communications unit thought it necessary to visit media houses to demonstrate that they and journalists are in the business together.

Herbalist in court for the murder of university lecturer

Ibrahim Kalokoh a herbalist, ordinarily resident at Shebora Town, Newton in the general area of Waterloo in rural Freetown appeared again before  Magistrate Mark Ngegba on Wednesday 26th July charged with the murder of FBC Lecturer Kabba Santigie Bangura whose corpse was discovered in the house of the herbalist.

Sole opposition MP in Sierra Leone’s parliament wants Speaker to end country’s political stalemate

Main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) Member of Parliament from Karene District Mohamed Bangura has called on the Speaker of Parliament Dr. Chernor Abass Bundu to facilitate reconciliation between the government and his party in a bid to promote peace to ensure that the fifty-three opposition MPs elect take their seats.

Bangura made this call on the 26th July 2023 during a debate on the approval of the first group of ministerial nominees.

The Speaker of Sierra Leone’s Parliament, Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu says walk-outs and boycotts have lost their value and relevance in this 21st Century.

Dr. Bundu’s statement in Parliament on Monday 24th July 2023 was directed at the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) whose Members of Parliament have boycotted sittings of the Sixth Parliament, since the announcement of the June General Elections, because of what the party alleged were irregularities in the polls.
