Sierra Leone Premier League Review

Lions drop 5 points out of 6

Mighty Blackpool Vs East End Lions was the game of the weekend. This is the derby that started last season and it could well be the same fixture that has finally revived a moribund Blackpool team to life.

East End Lions failure to win this game means they have now won just one point out of six. And they have gone three games in all competitions without winning; FC Kallon (Challenge Cup), Ports Authority and Mighty Blackpool.

Falaba and Karene get voting rights in the Sierra Leone FA

By Mohamed Jaward Nyallay

Members of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) have agreed at its just concluded ordinary congress on Saturday to give Karene and Falaba districts voting rights. The decision was taken at a very closely tight vote by delegates to determine whether they should be given right to vote or not.

Karene and Falaba were established over two years ago as part of the de-amalgamation process by the National Electoral Commission, ahead of the 2018 general elections.

Lions and Kallon stutter in openers

East End Lions and FC Kallon have both stuttered in their opening matches of the season. They both had big fixtures and they both couldn’t take three points.

Lions played on Saturday against Ports Authority. Coach John Keister will now tick Ports as one of his strongest opponents that he has come up against. Last season they shared the spoils twice and this season a 79th minute goal by Gibril Coulibally was enough to steal all three points for Ports.
