“I’ll give back to my country’’…says Didi Abu

Former East End Lions player, Didi Abu, and owner of Diaabu Soccer Academy in Virginia, United States of America has, in a telephone interview, told Politico Sports that he wants to give back to his country.

He said he would be coming up with a football festival in early December 2013 for young footballers between U-12 to U-17 categories as a way to support youth football in the country.

At the KBFA…Zaingaylay FC to face Chelsea SL

Zaingaylay FC are set to face Chelsea SL today at the National Stadium practicing field in the ongoing Kroobay Football Association, KBFA non-division championship sponsored by Sierratel.

Thirty-six teams were grouped into eight, according to the association’s secretary general, Abdulai Bundu. He said they had decided to take 36 teams because they wanted to give chance to the least player to expose his given talent.

Aramack FC, Success FC, Fakia United are some of the first timers in any KBFA organized competition.

Kalleone Man heads SLFA Media

John Konteh, a former presenter of Radio Kalleone, has been appointed head of Media and Marketing at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), replacing Sorie Ibrahim Sesay.

Addressing a news conference at the SLFA secretariat in Freetown, acting General Secretary General Abdul Rahman Swaray said the former spokesman is now in charge of local and international competitions.

SLFA Secretariat Restructuring Due

It's been revealed in Freetown that by the end of this month, FIFA's Organisation Review and Leadership Retreat (ORLA) initiative will help with the administrative set up and goal-setting of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA).

This activity will be undertaken by a consultant who will be assigned to the SLFA to function as the main anchor for the administrative development period.

Kallon Juniors get First Win

Kallon Juniors  secured their first win in the ongoing Kroobay League at the practicing field of the national stadium, by defeating Mountain City 1-0.

The lone goal was scored by Osman Jalloh in the 65th minute of play.

The head coach of Kallon Juniors Musa Kallon said his boys deserve the victory because, according to him "they played to win".

"I'm proud to represent my country" - Monya

Joseph Bockarie Monya, who plays for Kuyateh FC in Bo has told Politico that he was very proud to be part of the team that will represent Sierra Leone in the Airtel Rising Stars Season three football competition.

“This is my first time of taking part in the Airtel competition, we played well in the competition but we were eliminated in the semi finals in the southern region, but when I was selected as one of the players to represent my country I was surprised” said Monya.

No end in sight for SLFA crisis

A group of football administrators of Sierra Leone Premier League clubs, calling itself “the aggrieved delegates” say their clubs will not take part in any Premier League if the new SLFA executive refuses to sack two members of its staff, the General Secretary and the Public Relations Officer.
