Bawoh is FIVB Referee

Mohamed Benson Bawoh one of the most outstanding volleyball players Sierra Leone has produced in recent times will receive his international referee Badge after three years of evaluation by the international body governing volleyball. He was recently informed of that position.

According Bawoh the establishment of a National Referees' Commission for the first time in the history of the game and the Association, has brought recognition and commitment to the development of volleyball in Sierra Leone.

COFA update…Four teams in quarter-finals

Four teams have reached the quarter-final stage of the Central One Football Association (COFA) non-division league at the parade grounds. They are Same Face FC, Mountain City FC, Med Mans FC and Real Mack FC.

Same face defeated Talaban Football Club By 1-0, Mountain City qualified on post game penalties 5-4 against Flex FC after a 2-2 draw. Real Mack got a 1-0 win against Area Best in replay after the first leg ended 1-1.

After re-election…Boxers frown at Christian Campbell

Some members of the Sierra Leone Boxing Association (SLBA) have frowned at the re-election of the Association's Secretary General, Christian Campbell for the next four years. Boxer Mohamed Musa who spoke to this press expressed disappointment that Campbell was re-elected.

Musa accused Campbell of contributing to the downfall of the sport. He said Campbell ‘’normally takes boxers who are not members of their association to represent the country in international competitions which sometimes results in failure’’.

FC Kallon bag Le 10 million

FC Kallon bagged 10 million Leones from a one day gala organized by football stakeholders over the weekend at the Kaytee Field, Kingtom.

Eastern Best lost to Kallon in the first match 1-0. In the second match it was goalless between Mighty Blackpool and Eastern Best. In the finals Kallon FC and Mighty Blackpool played to a goalless draw.

FC Kallon ended the day with 4 points, Blackpool 2 points and Eastern Best 1 point.

Closet Creation update... Masoila secure first win

Masoila community secured their first win against Mordia in the first season of the Closet Creation Inter-Community League at the Fire Force playing ground, Tintafor Lungi.

Musa Conteh of Masoila community scored the first goal of the league.

The attention of the Sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone (SWASAL), has been drawn to a letter from the Ministry of Sports and authored by one Y.A Lahai calling for The Director-General and the Ambassador at Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to delete the name of Sahr Morris Jr. from the list of applicants for the issuance of a Russian Visa to cover the ongoing 49th IAAF Congress in Moscow.
