The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has announced that elections for National and Regional Executives will be held on 13 April, at the end of its 3-day biennial congress. In a press release issued yesterday and signed by its Acting National Secretary General, Olabisi Garrick, SLAJ warns members who do not pay their dues against Friday 22 March 2013 will not be allowed to vote or to be voted for. “This deadline will be respected to the letter to enable the Biennial Preparatory Committee organise a smooth conference, and the Electoral Commission to prepare its voters’ register for election in good time” the release continues. It urges members to pay at the association’s headquarters at 56 Campbell Street, Freetown, or at the various regional offices in Bo, Makeni and Kenema.
