Officials from ten Premier League football clubs have released a statement saying they will start a Super League on Saturday 20th April because the "Normalisation Committee and the SLFA secretariat are unable to organise a premier league and have done everything to stall the process".
They accuse the SLFA of treating the "stakeholders with scorn, levity and total disrespect" in matters relating to the organisation of the game, noting that when the FA decided to suspend the league originally scheduled to begin on the 12th of April, "no communication was done to the clubs informing them of the reasons. It was only in a radio discussion that the Acting Secretary General and his PRO sited unforeseen circumstances for the delays".
According to the document, ten premier leagues clubs "disapproved" of the re-appointment of the former premier league board chairman Victor Lewis and therefore agreed with the Normalisation Committee that he be removed from office. But they accuse the Normalisation Committee and the SLFA secretariat of not implementing the agreement arguing that both bodies "intended forcing an appointment of the chair of the premier league board..."
Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, the Public Relations Officer of the SLFA told Politico that they weren't informed about the proposed commencement of the super league because they had "earlier made it clear that the stakeholders need not inform the Football Association about it. " We are working on the final modalities for the start of the Premier League which will be communicated to them and any of our referees who is part of that arrangement will be sanctioned" he warned.
