The Western Area Volleyball Association has ended its indoor and beach volleyball competitions at the Lumley Beach Arena. Young Stars Volleyball club dominated the indoor championship in both male and female categories.
In beach volleyball, Young Stars won the men's championship by defeating RSLAF by 2 sets to 1, while in the female category Solar Spikers won by 2 set to 0, against Super Six to emerge winners. The winners in the two categories received Le 500.000 while the runners up received Le 300.000.
According to the president of WAVA, Moses Koroma, the competitions were aimed at keeping players busy as they prepare to face any competition. He thanked the sponsor, Aureol Insurance for their support.
Patrick Lombi of Young Stars received a prize as the most Valuable Player in Beach Volleyball while Hawa Kargbo won the Most Valuable Player in female category.
