SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (15/11/21)

Many parts of the world experienced a significant decrease in COVID-19 infections and deaths over the week, November 7-14, 2021.

Guinea-Bissau (3.46%) recorded the highest percentage increase in COVID-19 infections compared to Benin (0.12%), Burkina Faso (1.18%), Cape Verde (0.10%), Ivory Coast (0.16%), Gambia (0.07%), Ghana (0.20%), Guinea (0.11%), Liberia (0.03%), Mali (1.84%), Niger (3.24%), Nigeria (0.24%), Senegal (0.02%), Togo (0.13%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.13%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.29%), Africa (0.33%), Europe (2.92%), North America (1.14%), South America (0.37%), Asia (0.82%) and the world (1.36%). Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total infections.

Burkina Faso (5.88%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Cape Verde (0.29%), Ivory Coast (0.43%), Ghana (1.52%), Guinea (0.52%), Mali (1.92%), Niger (5.00%), Nigeria (1.82%), Senegal (0.05%), MRU (0.34%), ECOWAS (1.18%), Africa (0.53%), Europe (1.96%), North America (0.92%), South America (0.24%), Asia (0.85%) and the world (1.00%). Benin, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Guinea-Bissau (5.33%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total recoveries compared to Benin (0.82%), Burkina Faso (1.17%), Cape Verde (0.15%), Ivory Coast (0.26%), Gambia (0.06%), Ghana (0.49%), Guinea (0.27%), Mali (0.73%), Niger (1.44%), Nigeria (0.61%), Senegal (0.02%), Togo (0.11%), MRU (0.24%), ECOWAS (0.48%), Africa (0.72%), Europe (2.20%), North America (1.45%), South America (0.34%), Asia (0.91%) and the world (1.26%). Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
