Sierra Leone recorded 0.30% increase in total COVID-19 infections over the week, from December 5-12, 2021.
In comparison, Sierra Leone recorded the lowest percentage increase in COVID-19 infections compared to Burkina Faso (2.09%), Ghana (0.38%), Mali (3.89%), Niger (1.25%), Nigeria (1.16%), Togo (0.31%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.67%), Africa (1.99%), Europe (3.39%), North America (1.49%), Asia (0.69%) and the world (1.63%). However, Percentage increase in total infections was lower in Benin (0.14%), Cape Verde (0.15%), Ivory Coast (0.13%), Gambia (0.06%), Guinea (0.09%), Guinea-Bissau (0.05%), Liberia (0.15%), Senegal (0.09%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.13%) compared to Sierra Leone. Percentage increase in total infections in South America (0.30%) was the same as Sierra Leone.
Ghana (2.48%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (1.40%), Ivory Coast (0.14%), Guinea (0.26%), Mali (1.78%), Niger (2.30%), Nigeria (0.03%), MRU (0.13%), ECOWAS (0.54%), Africa (0.50%), Europe (1.97%), North America (0.93%), South America (0.22%), Asia (0.99%) and the world (1.05%). Benin, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Europe (3.17%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total recoveries compared to Burkina Faso (1.69%), Cape Verde (0.13%), Ivory Coast (0.20%), Gambia (0.01%), Ghana (0.32%), Guinea (0.09%), Guinea-Bissau (0.10%), Liberia (0.22%), Mali (1.55%), Niger (1.67%), Nigeria (0.13%), Senegal (0.06%), Togo (0.06%), MRU (0.16%), ECOWAS (0.24%), Africa (0.68%), North America (1.14%), South America (0.30%), Asia (0.73%) and the world (1.42%). Benin and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
