Head Coach of East End Lions Football Club, John Keister, has said he is not under pressure despite his team’s slow start to the season. Keister’s remark comes after his team’s sixth draw of the season.
“This season and last season will not be the same. Last season was a surprise, we went unbeaten. We were lucky, there were games that we could have lost, but we won them,” he said.
On Sunday evening, Lions drew 0-0 with FC Johansen, his former team.
Keister took time to praise his former side for the “brilliant” work they have put in.
“I am proud of their performance, this was a good football match,” he said.
Lions are 5th on the league table with 14 points from nine games. They are also the defending champions of the league. But this season hasn’t gone as smoothly as planned.
Keister said all this is down to the increased familiarity among teams this season.
“Teams know us better now and it is going to be more difficult than last season,” he said.
Kesiter’s opponent on Sunday, Abdulai Kaloga Bah, said they had learnt a lot from the top sides this season. He said the experience of facing top sides would make his side stronger.
Bah’s FC Johansen have not lost to any of last season’s top six teams. They have played five of them and have won points against each of them.
