Bawoh is FIVB Referee

Mohamed Benson Bawoh one of the most outstanding volleyball players Sierra Leone has produced in recent times will receive his international referee Badge after three years of evaluation by the international body governing volleyball. He was recently informed of that position.

According Bawoh the establishment of a National Referees' Commission for the first time in the history of the game and the Association, has brought recognition and commitment to the development of volleyball in Sierra Leone.

He said the commission is headed by the first International Referee attached to the Federation International De Volleyball, FIVB. ‘’I went through the Elite Referees course in Khartoum, Sudan...it was very successful for me’’, said Bawoh.

The volleyball star told Politico that the commission was formed few months ago in collaboration with the Technical Team of the association to modernize the technical sector of the game.

He said the successful conduct of the first International Referees' Course held in Freetown two months ago, inspired the establishment of the commission and observed that the new body will guide the local referees in interpreting the rules of the game.
