In Cricket…Tense Battle Ahead for Salone Women

The Sierra Leone women's national cricket team is expecting a tough challenge in the East, North West African [ENWAC] Cricket competition to be held in Banjul, the Gambia in May, 2014. The event will feature women’s cricket team from the three zones in Africa with the aim of exposing women cricketers and expanding the game in the African region.

Head coach Momofoe Kpundeh said; ‘’we are preparing fairly well to match them up to International standards. We hope to play up to the finals of the competition". He added that a total of 30 players are undergoing the training to pick out 14 players, that could represent the country in the Gambia.

Kpundeh called on the public to provide "significant financial support" for their preparation.
