The Republic Sierra Leone Armed Forces football team will play their first match in the CAF cup on the 8th of February in Freetown against Gamtel of The Gambia.
Head coach Ibrahim Tombo Bangura told Politico he was very happy to "reach these points for the very first time with a team that emerged from the Division One. Bangura said his team was "training hard as we prepare for this important tournament against Gamtel who've been taking part in this competition for the past years".
He noted that "we are going to approach them with our normal game plan which we have used in all matches we have played".
The coach said his club received financial support from the Football Association to the tune of $ 10, 000, 000 (ten thousand us dollars) which he said will go towards preparation, including the hospitality for the visiting team and match officials.
Bangura said his "players are ready and very much determined to play Gamtel and I am looking forward to that game as it will inspire my team to reach the peak of African football.
