Kalleone Man heads SLFA Media

By Kemoh Sesay

John Konteh, a former presenter of Radio Kalleone, has been appointed head of Media and Marketing at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), replacing Sorie Ibrahim Sesay.

Addressing a news conference at the SLFA secretariat in Freetown, acting General Secretary General Abdul Rahman Swaray said the former spokesman is now in charge of local and international competitions.

Swaray also announced that Jebor Sherrington was now the FA's Technical Director and will be assisted by John Keister who is also head of Youth and Grassroots football while Elma Kamara will be in charge of football organization.

Another football pundit on Radio Kalleon Mohamed Barrie is now in charge of football education at the SLFA.

Meanwhile the SLFA General Secretary has announced that the Premier League will resume this weekend. He said teams that fail to honour their fixture will be penalized.

He said “a seed money of 5 million Leones will be given to participating teams and African Minerals has vowed to sponsor the league with 100 millions Leones with other commercial houses expressing interest”.

Swaray said "only the SLFA has the right to add teams and reduce teams in the Premier League and not the delegates".

In his response the Public Relations Officer of a group called the Aggrieved Delegates Sirajin Rollings- Kamara said they still "stand our ground and will not be part of the SPL if our demands aren’t met...if Swarray tries to contravene the constitution of the SLFA we will take them to court as the constitution binds the SLFA”.
