MBSSE urges heads of schools to complete WASSCE entries

The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has in a press statement urged all heads of secondary schools to submit comprehensive lists of potential WASSCE candidates and those who took the examination in 2021 and are intending to resist this year’s exam.

In their press release dated on the 13th, January 2022, they informed heads of schools that they will only receive entries for pupils who attempted and passed the Basic Education and Certificate Examination (BECE) in 2018 and 2019 are qualified to enter the school WASSCE.

The ministry noted that all senior schools nationwide need to resubmit comprehensive lists of candidates including repeaters who must be identified by indicating ® against their names to the ministry through their District Education Offices in their districts offices.

The press release added that the closing date for the receipt of all entries is on the 20th January 2022; adding that no entry from any school beyond the stated date will be allowed.

MBSSE informed heads of schools that the final vetted list of qualified candidates per school will be generated by the School Quality Assurance Management and Resources (SQAMR) Directorate at the ministry headquarters in Freetown so that principals of schools will undertake online entry formalities as required by WAEC against the final deadline date of 25th January 2022.
