THE NEW ENEMY

Life! Life!! You sandwiched us with bread and butter,

Quench our thirst with muddy water.

What on earth have we done?

You blow, like breeze, our happiness;

And cease our joy with sickness.

You damp our tongue with bitterness,

Our Windows are wet in tears.

You culture our body with hygiene,

But in us you instill fears.

We close our Windows,

To remember the awful rains of Ebola,

Now come the gallows of Corona,

That want to wipe us out forever.

As conscious, and wise as mice,

Live up to the rules or pay the price,

Sensitize yourselves in one accord,

And prevent oneself or face the rod,

For depends not in all but in Him our God.

Let us push our limits and buckle our thighs,

Let us dance to the tune of the preventive signs.

Let us wash our hands and avoid the face,

And if an odd feeling comes up, you know the doctor’s place.

The world today a common enemy face,

And we today are at a steep precipice.

We could go on all day and play the blame game,

Or we can stand as one and achieve our aim.

Outside Jericho's walls,

Battling horn for horn,

A faulty system;

Speaks "preparedness"

But it's nothing like we've seen.

Thus the venom that it spits!

Fear looms large,

Solitude sets in,

The enemy next door;

Trying hard to get in.

It's a cold war,

Glorious nations bow to this new enemy,

Can we sit by and allow the virus to kill us?

Hell no! The death numbers are scary already;

It derails the world's economy.

Must we be wavered by this enemy?

We are a world of hope and serenity,

Let's follow all preventing instructions for a lasting solution,

The dream at the end is to have a new Nation
