Lions drop points in Kono

So Lions dropped two points over the weekend in Kono. For the title race, this means instead of leading 2nd place FC Kallon by four points or at least one point (if FC Kallon wins), they are now leading them by just two points. Yes, just two points. FC Kallon could go top of the table with a win against Old Edwardians this Saturday.

But this draw is not just a misfortune for Lions; all credit goes to a rejuvenated Diamond Stars team. They are reaping the from faith they put in coach Zappa. Despite still being in 9th position, the Diamond Stars have taken points from three top six sides since the league resumed; central Parade, Mighty Blackpool and East End Lions.

Kamboi end home spell

In the other district in the east, Kenema, Kamboi Eagles ended what seemed like a home spell against Central Parade. The Eagles won their first game at home this season. Just a 1-0 score line was enough to condemn Parade to their second defeat in three games.

Parade have just picked one point in the last nine. Their poor form has now cost them their spot on the table. They started this second leg third and are now sixth, nine points behind league leaders East End Lions.

Parade might fire their coach under this heat. They sacked their first coach under a much better situation.

Rangers win another point

Down south, Bo Rangers are still searching for their second win of the season after 15 games. Yes, that is how bad their situation is even to an extent that a draw against Mighty Blackpool doesn’t even count for much these days.

This draw comes with a new caretaker coach on the touchline for them after they sacked Tito Cole last week. Its two points in nine, for RANGERS and the good thing is they have kept clean sheets in two games out of the three.

Mighty Blackpool are 4th in the league with 22 points. But if you are a fan you will have to wonder why they can’t beat teams at the bottom half of the table. Blackpool have failed to beat a team in 9th, a team in 11th and now a team in 13th position.

Its three draws in a row now for Tis Tas. The Dragon is sleeping.

And the Saints are marching on…

These days Edwards name is synonymous to Edmund. This so because Edmund has won six points out of six for his Edwards side. If anyone thought last week’s winner against Ports Authority was a fluke, then they should have watched this match against East End Tigers. Whatever the Edwards coach, Tostao was finding; I think he has seen.

It’s still a long way to go, but Old Edwardians are now two points above the relegation zone, with a game in hand. That’s something.

East End Tigers will rue all those missed chances. But they are not worried just yet, this league has just begun.

RSLAF in a dive

RSLAF lost to Ports Authority 1-0. For Ports they needed to bounce back after that shocking defeat to Old Edwardians last week.

For RSLAF, this is crisis in full swing. They have now lost two in two and even though they have a game in hand over Bo Rangers, they are just two points shy from taking their spot in the bottom.

RSLAF is a team that almost defeated FC Kallon and East End Lions in the first round of the league. How are they not building up from there, is just baffling.

They are 12th in the table, just two points above Bo Rangers.
