By Kemoh Sesay

The sport event titled Race for Survival organised by the NGO Save the Children starts this weekend at the National Stadium on Saturday 26th October with 10 schools across the country taking part. They are Richard Allen, Ahmadiyya, St Helena, Rokel, Model, Muslim Brotherhood, Constant Cummings-john, Technical, Services, Dr SM Broderick, and Municipal Secondary School.

According to Campaign Manager Joanna Tom Kargbo the schools must put forward a team of 36 children aged 11 to 13 years including 18 boys and 18 girls.

She said the Race for Survival is an event for children who race other teams simultaneously at different venue across the world over a full marathon distance while attempting to beat the world marathon record, last year.

Over 2,000 children in 12 counties including Sierra Leone, UK, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, China, and Kenya will take part in the World Marathon Challenge.
