Many parts of the world experienced a significant decrease in COVID-19 infections and deaths over the week, October 25-31, 2021.
Europe (2.87%) recorded the highest percentage increase in COVID-19 infections compared to Benin (0.77%), Cape Verde (0.29%), Ivory Coast (0.23%), Gambia (0.09%), Ghana (0.37%), Guinea (0.09%), Guinea-Bissau (0.03%), Liberia (0.02%), Mali (1.66%), Niger (1.65%), Nigeria (0.83%), Senegal (0.05%), Togo (0.39%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.16%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.49%), Africa (0.43%), North America (1.12%), South America (0.40%), Asia (1.02%) and the world (1.41%). Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total infections.
Niger (2.91%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Cape Verde (0.58%) Ivory Coast (0.87%), Gambia (0.29%), Ghana (0.51%), Mali (0.90%), Nigeria (1.40%), Senegal (0.11%), Togo (0.83%), MRU (0.40%), ECOWAS (0.73%), Africa (0.69%), Europe (2.00%), North America (1.23%), South America (0.30%), Asia (1.17%) and the world (1.17%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Guinea-Bissau (2.99%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total recoveries compared to Benin (1.56), Cape Verde (0.81%), Ivory Coast (0.45%), Gambia (0.10%), Ghana (0.82%), Guinea (0.37%), Mali (0.71%), Niger (1.13%), Nigeria (2.51%), Senegal (0.04%), Togo (0.42%), MRU (0.38%), ECOWAS (1.19%), Africa (0.55%), Europe (1.96%), North America (1.80%), South America (0.43%), Asia (1.18%) and the world (1.37%). Burkina Faso, Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
