Sierra Leone recorded 1.79% and 2.06% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Tuesday (10:00 am) to Thursday (10:00 am).
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total cases was higher compared to Burkina Faso (1.76%), Cape Verde (0.82%), Ivory Coast (0.93%), Gambia (1.09%), Guinea-Bissau (1.06%), Liberia (0.05%), Mali (0.23%), Niger (0.62%), Senegal (1.63%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.68%), Africa (0.87%), Europe (1.15%), North America (0.89%), South America (1.13%), Asia (0.62%) and the world (0.94%). However, percentage increase in total cases in Benin (5.81%), Ghana (2.31%), Nigeria (2.10%) and Togo (2.59%) was higher compared to Sierra Leone. Percentage increase in total cases in the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (1.79%) was the same as Sierra Leone. Guinea recorded zero increase in total cases.
Burkina Faso (4.96%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Benin (3.85%), Cape Verde (0.75%), Ivory Coast (1.28%), Gambia (0.76%), Ghana (4.09%), Mali (0.91%), Niger (1.24%), Nigeria (0.68%), Senegal (1.57%), MRU (0.50%), ECOWAS (1.34%), Africa (1.74%), Europe (1.81%), North America (1.57%), South America (0.96%), Asia (0.55%) and the world (1.37%). Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Benin (3.83%), Burkina Faso (3.06%), Nigeria (2.24%) and Togo (2.12%). Percentage increase in total recoveries in Cape Verde (1.13%), Ivory Coast (1.76%), Gambia (1.92%), Ghana (1.80%), Liberia (0.34%), Mali (0.87%), Niger (1.18%), Senegal (2.05%), MRU (1.16%), ECOWAS (1.88%), Africa (1.31%), Europe (1.61%), North America (1.65%), South America (1.67%), Asia (0.71%) and the world (1.36%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Guinea and Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
