Sierra Leone recorded 0.02% and 0.23% increase in COVID-19 total infections and total recoveries respectively over the week, from September 26 to October 3, 2021.
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total infections was lower compared to Benin (4.06%), Burkina Faso (1.13%), Cape Verde (0.63%), Ivory Coast (1.00%), Gambia (0.24%), Ghana (0.68%), Guinea (0.28%), Guinea-Bissau (0.18%), Liberia (0.29%), Mali (0.82%), Niger (1.02%), Nigeria (0.91%), Senegal (0.09%), Togo (1.29%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.69%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.83%), Africa (1.22%), Europe (1.56%), North America (1.79%), South America (0.44%), Asia (1.34%) and the world (1.35%).
Ivory Coast (7.25%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Benin (3.25%), Burkina Faso (3.89%), Cape Verde (1.80%), Gambia (0.90%), Ghana (0.87%), Guinea (0.53%), Liberia (1.06%), Mali (0.37%), Niger (1.00%), Nigeria (1.91%), Senegal (0.22%), Togo (3.60%), MRU (3.49%), ECOWAS (1.59%), Africa (1.57%), Europe (1.07%), North America (1.77%), South America (0.41%), Asia (1.27%) and the world (1.14%). Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Benin (27.17%), Burkina Faso (0.75%), Cape Verde (1.07%), Ivory Coast (1.62%), Gambia (0.42%), Ghana (1.12%), Guinea (0.71%), Guinea-Bissau (0.97%), Mali (0.42%), Niger (0.86%), Nigeria (0.76%), Senegal (0.64%), Togo (5.44%), MRU (1.19%), ECOWAS (1.82%), Africa (1.14%), Europe (1.56%), North America (2.33%), South America (0.41%), Asia (1.84%) and the world (1.60%). Liberia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
