Sierra Leone recorded 0.80% and 2.48% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 72 hours, from Saturday (10:00 am) to Tuesday (10:00 am).
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total cases was lower compared to Burkina Faso (1.49%), Cape Verde (1.01%), Ivory Coast (2.29%), Gambia (2.82%), Ghana (3.26%), Guinea (0.92%), Guinea-Bissau (1.02%), Nigeria (1.99%), Senegal (3.38%), Togo (2.61%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.69%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (2.20%), Africa (1.05%), Europe (1.06%), North America (1.09%), South America (1.08%), Asia (0.83%) and the world (1.02%). However, percentage increase in total cases in Mali (0.44%) and Niger (0.70%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin and Liberia recorded zero increase in total cases.
Ghana (5.12%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (1.52%), Cape Verde (0.74%), Ivory Coast (3.13%), Gambia (2.27%), Mali (0.89%), Niger (0.61%), Nigeria (1.95%), Senegal (3.45%), Togo (1.27%), MRU (1.23%), ECOWAS (2.22%), Africa (1.43%), Europe (1.36%), North America (1.29%), South America (1.06%), Asia (0.69%) and the world (1.18%). Benin, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was higher compared to Burkina Faso (2.21%), Cape Verde (1.68%), Gambia (0.39%), Guinea (0.50%), Mali (0.56%), Niger (1.61%), Togo (2.36%), MRU (2.30%), ECOWAS (2.45%), Africa (1.86%), Europe (2.01%), North America (2.12%), South America (1.46%), Asia (1.19%) and the world (1.70%). Percentage increase in total recoveries in Ivory Coast (3.38%), Ghana (2.59%), Nigeria (2.68%) and Senegal (3.38%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin, Guinea-Bissau and Liberia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
