Sierra Leone recorded 0.81% and 1.76% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Tuesday (10:00 am) to Thursday (10:00 am).
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total cases was lower compared to Benin (2.57%), Burkina Faso (0.40%), Cape Verde (0.54%), Ivory Coast (1.97%), Ghana (0.31%), Guinea (1.75%), Guinea-Bissau (0.45%), Mali (1.13%), Niger (0.41%), Nigeria (0.47%), Senegal (0.66%), Togo (1.83%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.72%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.70%), Africa (0.48%), Europe (0.95%), North America (0.43%), South America (1.09%), Asia (0.67%) and the world (0.75%). However, percentage increase in total cases was lower in Liberia (0.10%). Gambia recorded zero increase in total cases.
Guinea (4.12%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Cape Verde (0.65%), Ivory Coast (0.98%), Ghana (1.39%), Guinea-Bissau (4.08%), Niger (1.13%), Nigeria (0.55%), Senegal (1.08%), MRU (1.29%), ECOWAS (0.78%), Africa (0.57%), Europe (0.80%), North America (0.69%), South America (1.09%), Asia (0.40%) and the world (0.75%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Liberia, Mali, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was higher compared to Burkina Faso (0.59%), Cape Verde (0.68%), Ivory Coast (0.51%), Ghana (0.43%), Guinea (1.10%), Guinea-Bissau (0.94%), Liberia (0.32%), Mali (0.03%), Niger (1.59%), Nigeria (1.07%), Senegal (1.79%), MRU (0.74%), ECOWAS (0.95%), Africa (0.66%), Europe (0.99%), North America (0.89%), South America (1.04%), Asia (0.59%) and the world (0.86%). Percentage increase in total recoveries was higher in Benin (3.14%) and Togo (3.06%) compared to Sierra Leone. Gambia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
