Sierra Leone recorded 0.03% and 0.07% increase in COVID-19 total infections and total recoveries respectively over the week, October 3-10, 2021.
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total infections was lower compared to Benin (1.86%), Burkina Faso (1.18%), Cape Verde (0.62%), Ivory Coast (0.68%), Gambia (0.04%), Ghana (0.70%), Guinea (0.22%), Guinea-Bissau (0.11%), Mali (1.13%), Niger (0.96%), Nigeria (0.75%), Senegal (0.06%), Togo (1.07%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.46%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.67%), Africa (0.60%), Europe (1.75%), North America (1.55%), South America (0.42%), Asia (1.15%) and the world (1.26%). Liberia recorded zero increase in total infections.
Ivory Coast (4.28%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Cape Verde (1.76%), Gambia (3.62%), Ghana (0.17%), Guinea (1.06%), Mali (0.73%), Niger (0.49%), Nigeria (0.77%), Senegal (0.48%), Togo (2.17%), MRU (1.90%), ECOWAS (0.89%), Africa (0.88%), Europe (1.33%), North America (1.69%), South America (0.36%), Asia (1.01%) and the world (1.09%). Benin, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Benin (5.75%), Burkina Faso (0.78%), Cape Verde (0.74%), Ivory Coast (1.04%), Ghana (1.04%), Guinea (0.56%), Guinea-Bissau (0.28%), Mali (0.37%), Niger (0.31%), Nigeria (0.64%), Senegal (0.11%), Togo (4.84%), MRU (0.79%), ECOWAS (1.01%), Africa (0.82%), Europe (1.63%), North America (2.11%), South America (0.77%), Asia (1.59%) and the world (1.55%). However, percentage increase in recoveries was lower in Gambia (0.03%) compared to Sierra Leone. Liberia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
