The Single leg Amputee national team has been knocked out of the African Cup of nation’s competition in Kenya after losing to 6 -1 and 1-0 to Angola and Liberia respectively. According to the Public Relations Officer Albert Mustapha Manley told Politico on phone that their poor performance was as a result of the "organizers of the competition not making any proper planning to host the competition". He said the "Kenya FA did not give them any support to make the competition a more successful one...we were not given any proper accommodation or proper food to eat.
Manley disclosed that other participating teams were taken care by their ambassadors in Kenya and "we were the only team left stranded as the organizers did not have money to take care of us". He pointed out that despite that "the boys put up a good fight in both matches, those factors affected our performance overall".
The national single leg amputees went to Nairobi under the sponsorship of Mercury International and Airtel.
