Sierra Leone investment chief sacked

Caulker, former SLIEPA boss

The head of the Sierra Leone's Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA) has been sacked.

Patrick Caulker's dismissal yesterday followed a three-hour long meeting of the Board of the country's official agency to assist and inform investment and exporters.

The Chair of the Board, Gladys Strasser-King would not give reasons for the decision which she said was taken "unanimously" at a meeting that was also attended by Trade Minister, Usu Boie-Kamara.

She told Politico  that the decision had been reached at an earlier meeting of the Board on Thursday but was made official yesterday.

Caulker himself could not be reached despite several attempts to get his reaction and the possible reasons for his dismissal.
