After much delay, the Sierra Leone Football Association SLFA has submitted a list of three names to represent them in a committee charged with the responsibility of regularising the status of delegates eligible to attend the organisation's congress. The special committee which will prepare the way for the arrival of a special FIFA delegation in September also includes three nominees of a group opposed to Isha Johansen's leadership, commonly called Football Stakeholders, and one member from the Ministry of Sports.
The SLFA nominated Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Sim Turay, Mrs. Chadia Talib and Councilor Amidu Bah, while the Football Stakeholders put forward Abdul Rahman Thorley, Karow Kamara, and Hon. David Soriba.
Politico understands that veteran sports administrator Saidu Mansaray would represent the ministry but the ministry is yet to confirms that.
According to Abu Bakarr Kamara, the Media officer of the SLFA, his organisation had no objection to the team going out to identify the true delegates of the SLFA.
Kasho Holland Cole from the Stakeholders group said: "the names submitted has gone through a proper scrutiny by doing a background check on them, which has proven positive for them to work in that committee...We trust them and we are hoping to have a better outcome from that committee."
