MAKENI LIVES MATTER CAMPAIGN BACKFIRES
When Tolongbo guys at Tower Hill planned their MAKENI LIVES MATTER protest they must have considered it a masterstroke, the event that finally convinced the whole world that the New Direction administration was up to no good in this Land that we Love. That Tolongbo was the victim of police brutality with the support of the government and the world must take notice. They then went about printing and distributing the T-Shirts and then agreeing on when and how to attack. So where are we now? The protest in the well of parliament is come and gone, pictures posted on social media. What’s the next move dear Tolongbo MPs?
Here’s a point we MUST make: the people who died in that riot in Makeni are Sierra Leoneans who should never have lost their lives in those circumstances. The whole country is very clear about that but for Tolongbo to bring a so-called MAKENI LIVES MATTER protest into the well of parliament in this way is to say the least a real head scratcher.
1. Tolongbo guys on Tower Hill, like the other people there may have come through different channels but in a democracy we know they should always serve the national interest. The Morning Prayer that starts off the sessions in that house there is very clear. So to create the impression Makeni is superior to any other part of the country opens up the eyes of other Sierra Leoneans to the reality of the whole Tolongbo project organized by King Messi for ELEVEN YEARS.
2. Makeni has 24 hour electricity supply throughout the year, the best township roads. They even told the Pope to withdraw his candidate designated to run the Makeni Diocese because he came from the show there. This campaign started long ago.
3. The Tolongbo MPs should have asked the speaker of parliament for a whole session to debate the use of lethal force by the police and then have it covered LIVE by the media so that the message gets through for action to be taken. But that narrow Makeni campaign at Tower Hill was poor. Some of those who took part had good intentions but the signal that came through to ordinary Sierra Leoneans is that our live only matter if we came from Makeni.
4. What we now see on the same social media that Tolongbo used are reports of several incidents of police killings across the country under Tolongbo rule that ended just yesterday. The fact that people whose children were killed by the police in Tolongbo days did not launch such narrow protests means that they considered the issue of police killing people at protests a national question.
Tolongbo must never present themselves as saints in this matter because the killings they presided over are still fresh in the minds of the affected families.
AIG BRIMA JAH’S SHOCKING GAFFE IN KAMARAINBA INVESTIGATION
Politician Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray is being investigated by police after a 15 year-old girl became the central figure in a case of alleged sexual penetration. The issue has been on the lips of Sierra Leoneans since the story broke about two weeks ago. This New Direction administration comes down hard on sexual abuse of women and girls, and has further manifested the seriousness with which it treats such matters by setting up a separate sexual offences court to deal with alleged rapists and paedophiles.
The police spokesman has been updating the public on the progress of the case and we can say he’s been professional. However, the Director of Crime Services, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Brima Jah in one of his public statements, made a serious blunder in revealing the name of the owners of the so-called ‘’safe house’’ where the girls is being sheltered right now. We are careful not to prejudice the matter but the girl is already under much attention that could be weighing her down already, and disclosing the specific name of her safe house by a senior detective has shocked many people including child rights groups. It is now easy to locate that facility and interfere with that young girl in many ways. The girl’s identity could easily be compromised and her safety threatened. She needs counseling and other support at this point in time.
It was a real gaffe by the officer for which he should apologize to the girl and the people managing the facility where the girl is presently housed. The place caters for vulnerable children from various backgrounds and those being sheltered there could face generalized stigmatization in society as victims of sexual abuse as well.
Can AIG Jah tell us it was indeed a blunder and that he won’t repeat such in the future please? A seasoned cop he is, but got it all wrong this time. Safe house is supposed to be discreet, other than that it is of very little relevance. AIG you could have simply told the world the girls was in a SAFE HOUSE without naming the organization that runs the so-called safe house.
TIM KABBAH AND THE HUGE TASK IN THE MINES MINISTRY
The man from the Petroleum Directorate has finally taken over at the troubled Ministry of Mines. He is the THIRD guy there since the New Direction administration came into being. He is a nice and hardworking man and we hope he gets enough time to deliver what the good people of Sierra Leone expect from that corner of government.
The immediate thing that people want is for the mines to open up so that jobs can be created. King Messi lost all the jobs in the mining sector before his chosen successors were prevented from taking over by the good people of Sierra Leone.
Thousands of mainly young people in those mines returned to Freetown completely broke; those in mining communities were left poverty and disgrace. Some businesses that serviced those mines closed down. That’s why many people are not impressed with the cry of DE GRON DRY coming from King Messi and his people.
It is now Tim’s job to make sure those mines reopen and the jobs restored to the young people of this country. They need to work and make money for their children. Tim did a good job at Petroleum Directorate. He has to do the same at the Ministry of Mines.
Tim has to try and end all international court cases involving this country and mining companies. We are fed up with litigations from one court to the other, one party winning today at the expense of the other and tables turning the next day. It’s enough.
We are reading and hearing a lot about whatever role the National Mineral Agency is supposed to have played in the removal of the two previous ministers. That’s a matter we are investigating. How can an agency created to support the work of the ministry become so powerful that it can continuously influence the sacking of ministers? Surely that is something worth investigating.
LOCK ALL PETTY CRIMINALS IN NOAH’S ARK
Noah’s Ark was introduced to the Ministry of Internal Affairs because security matters in our major cities were not being handled properly. The old guy was busy enjoying the sweets of office while criminals harassed and robbed people on the streets and in their homes. Principal threw the guy out of government when a very cheap plot that even traders on the streets knew about in advance culminated in an attempted jailbreak at the so-called Maximum Security Prison.
In the early days of the change, Noah’s Ark appeared in communities ravaged by armed robberies, assuring people that those criminals will be chased, arrested and locked up in the Ark for a long time. In other words they will not cause society any more troubles. We are sorry to tell Noah’s Ark that there has been no change and in fact, the criminals are getting bold and intensifying their actions on many other fronts.
Noah’s Ark MUST know, if he doesn’t already, that all over the business area of Freetown, petty criminals are breaking into people’s cars and stealing their computers and money. They are stealing car batteries in broad daylight and it would appear that the blue boys of IG Sovula are either unable or unwilling to chase, arrest and lock the criminals up in the Noah’s Ark.
We warn Noah’s Ark that small vigilante groups will soon appear in our cities as people try to ensure their own personal security and that of their properties. At that point things will get out of control and there will be a very big problem inside Noah’s Ark. People are no longer going to accept the rubbish that they should expect their cars to be broken into along Campbell Street of all places in broad daylight.
