PRESIDENT TRUMP SKIPS JOE BIDEN INAUGURATION

So brother TRUMP has pulled out of the inauguration program of President-elect Joe Biden Jr. on Wednesday 20th January. We heard on radio the other day that such a thing has not happened in MANY years – that is the man leaving the White House after an election not attending the inauguration of his successor. We know TRUMP likes to WIN all the time but the world would be a crazily boring place if only ONE person won things all the time. However, we understand that outwardly quiet Mr. Pence, his Vice President will attend. So at least, we will have a very senior member of the Trump administration in attendance. Brother Trump can stay in Florida. Covfefe.

Now the world is looking forward to the big day when Joe Biden Jr. will take that oath of office and start undoing all those very bad TRUMP policies like separating immigrant children from their parents and locking them up in cages and encouraging White Supremacist violence by calling the perpetrators VERY FINE PEOPLE and comparing them to BLACK LIVES MATTER campaigners who are completely fed up with their brothers and sisters being killed on the streets by police for all sorts of reasons including stealing a bar of chocolate for a grocery store.

On January 20, across many parts of the world, including AFRICA, people will celebrate well into the night because a very thin-skinned president who humiliates anybody who disagrees with him and calls them names would be gone from the leadership of great America.

In the eyes of the White House, Africa will once again be a normal continent of largely poor countries but with decent and proud people. We are NOT SHITHOLE people. Please brother Trump if you have any hotels or gulf courses anywhere in Africa sell them off now because we are calling on the African Union to pass a resolution at the next meeting of the authority of heads of state to ban you from entering or doing business in our continent.

Happy INUAGURATION DAY! LONG LIVE USA! VIVA AFRICA!

LIKE 2013, LIKE 2021 SLFA SECRETARIAT STRIKES AGAIN

Dark clouds are gathering over the secretariat of the Sierra Leone Football Association once again. SEVEN YEARS after they manipulated Queen Johansen’s way into the presidency of the SLFA, there is absolutely no doubt this morning that the 2013 electoral fraud is about to be REPEATED. The stakeholders in Sierra Leone Football are complaining loudly about the events of the last few days when several candidates vying for various positions in the association were thrown out of the race by secretariat staff for God knows what. We don’t know what can be done now to give what is left of this whole process even a modicum of credibility because as far as we are concerned it’s now INCURABLY TAINTED.

The point is that the whole country knew this was going to happen and Queen Johansen has surely not disappointed us. She is desperate to hold that job – so desperate that through her machinations to stay in power, she got FIFA to ban OUR COUNTRY from international football.

In the run up to what is happening now, she packed the secretariat with a handful of YES MEN with conflicting and overlapping administrative functions and told them their jobs depended on what THE MADAM wanted. That includes setting up crazy roadblocks all over the place to frustrate other stakeholders from challenging and defeating her after SEVEN YEARS. Some Sierra Leoneans have even forgotten that she was SELECTED for FOUR YEARS. In the UNLIKELY event that she is elected in February, she would end up doing do THREE TERMS.

We want Queen Johansen to know that no matter how much she manipulates the process this year, she will face all those she has not been able to kick out now at the ballot box in her chosen city of MAKENI.

How can a secretariat disqualify a whole region from nominating candidates because they allegedly did not submit the minutes of one of their meetings? Even during visa interviews, applicants are allowed to file extra documents to support their application after the actual interview.

In fact, why was it necessary to have a compromised secretariat to vet candidates before submitting their names to the so-called Electoral Committee to simply announce? Is vetting not part of the functions of the Electoral Committee? What the SLFA did is like the Ministry of Political Affairs vetting and approving party candidates before passing the names to the National Electoral Commission to conduct an election. Totally Unacceptable!

ONE HUNDRED-BED FACILITY AT 34 MILITAY HOSPITAL.

This is one of those projects going on now that the whole country should applaud but we have this disease in Sierra Leone that makes us read partisan politics into even our choice of soft drinks. We will not be surprised if this is thrown into partisan politics very quickly. We think the First Lady of the republic of Sierra Leone should be commended for this one because of what 34 military hospital means to our service personnel and their families, and indeed the whole country.

We can go on to talk about her other great projects like the Hand off Our Girls and free Sanitary Pads for girls in school aimed at dealing decisively with sexual molestation, harassment and rape of girls and keeping those girls in school constantly in class in a decent way even during their menstrual cycle. These are not projects that produce the immediate impact people look for all over the place but a careful, non-partisan look at how they unfold will easily show how attitudes are changing towards our women and girls.

So back to this hospital project that is funded by KINGS INTERNATIONAL. We understand that all being well it should be ready for use by September. This deadline looks difficult to meet but there is no harm trying. We think December 2021 looks realistic because of the way things happen in the Land That We Love.

We wish the First Lady well with this project and thank Kings International for putting their money into such a worthy initiative.

MARIJUANA EXPORT FROM SIERRA LEONE MUST STOP

First of all we congratulate our minister for the northwest who did very well last year, against all odds to fight this trade in narcotics across our border with Guinea. She personally supervised the confiscation and destruction of all sorts of contraband goods that people trade in all the time. Having said that we believe this country must do something decisive about the marijuana trade that is definitely on the increase in some parts of our countryside. And we should attach no emotions to whatever we decide to do. Here are the reasons why we should be very concerned:

1. When the police tried to smash a marijuana production and distribution enterprise somewhere in Tonkolili district about two years or so ago, much of the debate focused on the police tactics instead of the evil marijuana trade. We know that the death of a young guy in the process changed the narrative but that was a totally missed opportunity.

2. We will soon get to a point at which ordinary Sierra Leoneans going about their normal business in neighboring countries will be arrested by the authorities and treated like drug traffickers. This will really not look good.

3. Beyond our immediate neighborhood, a Sierra Leonean passport will trigger an immediate alarm at airports about drug trafficking. It’s that serious. This is very much on the cards if we allow people in certain parts of this country to convince themselves that their economic prosperity depended entirely on producing and selling drugs.

4. We also believe that there will come a time, maybe sooner than we project, when the drug kings in the areas we are talking about, will set up zones that will be no-go areas for our security forces. They will be armed and bold. They will be willing to attack our forces – something like Columbia or Mexico.

5. Does anybody know what is happening to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency? We certainly have no idea. Please send us what you know. See our contacts at the back of this paper. Thank in advance.
